Creatively Wild Teaching Artist


Sally Novak is an award-winning Brooklyn-based artist. She was born in California, and lived for many years in San Diego as a working artist represented by Galleria Dos Damas before moving to New York City in 2004. Sally works in a variety of media, including oil on canvas, acrylic on canvas and paper, found objects, and recycled materials. Her current works are environmental explorations on paper rendered in acrylics, graphite, and oil pastels. She received her BFA from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn. She graduated cum laude as a painting major. Her extensive body of work is collected in the US and Europe.Sally has been with the Creatively Wild since its inception in 2009 and currently heads up our ONLINE program & teaches all age groups from Kids to Adults, as well as overseeing our course curriculums.
Sally’s teaching style provides students creative freedom, but always includes color theory, art history, and art critique into her curriculum, she encourages students to think critically and independently, widening their creative vocabulary. Some of her loyal students have been coming to her for and years!
