June 19 - Craig Anthony Miller (CAM): Elephants Amongst Bridges: A Juneteenth Painting Celebration

Join us on Juneteenth for an unforgettable evening of art, culture, and celebration as we kick off the season of Drink and Draw. Next to the two iconic bridges, Manhattan and Brooklyn, immerse yourself in creativity.

As we come together to celebrate Juneteenth and the start of a new season, we invite you to be part of this inspiring artistic experience. DJ Zemotion will be once again providing an amazing soundtrack for the night, setting the perfect vibe for your creative journey: get ready to groove to the beats as you unleash your inner artist.

In addition to the art, we'll have raffles, giveaways, and a special giveaway for one lucky participant. Inspired by the spirit of Juneteenth and the resilience of our community, join us in painting your vision of strength, unity, and progress. Incorporating the symbolism of the elephant—a representation of strength, wisdom, and overcoming obstacles—into your artwork, capture the essence of Brooklyn's rich history and the bridges that connect us all.

June 26 - Cara Lee Sparry: Inspired by Paintchips: Poetry, Collage, and Mixed Media

Dive into a world of creativity where "Midnight Sky" meets "Sunrise Serenade"! Join our mixed media and collage workshop, where we'll draw inspiration from the vibrant world of paint swatch names. From "Golden Glow" to "Ocean Breeze," explore a spectrum of colors, textures, and feelings to create stunning collages with the paint color names as inspiration (or drawings? or poetry?!). This workshop is your canvas to experiment, play, and create something truly unique: remember, there are no mistakes in art! Don't miss this colorful journey of self-expression and creativity with local Dumbo legend Cara Lee Sparry (one of the owners of everyone’s favorite restaurant, Superfine).

July 3 - Noah Lyon: Multiple Maniacs: Painting and Drawing Characters

Choose a character, any character! Dive into Noah Lyon’s world where art mirrors reality and rhythm comes alive through repetition. Start with a single circle, then add more, and watch your masterpiece unfold. Under Noah's expert guidance, aspiring artists will learn to bring his beloved characters and beings to life, creating their own rhythmic masterpieces along the way.

Using acrylic paint and paint markers, each artist will create their own colorful perception of reality.

July 10 - Billie Elise presents "Rhythm" w/ resident artist Fidelis Ayuwa Izekor

This workshop, hosted by resident artist Fidelis Ayuwa Izekor with assistance from the Billie Elise Team, offers a unique opportunity for participants to explore the concept of rhythm in art. During the workshop, students will use African textiles, including fabric swatches and fabric, as inspiration for creating painted patterns on canvas. Fidelis will delve into the concept of "rhythm," which involves the visual or auditory patterns created by repeated shapes, elements, colors, sounds, and movements. Participants will learn to establish a sense of flow and connection and emphasize areas of the composition. This project is very much feelings-based, as this is how Fidelis creates: we will spend time identifying and understanding the feelings that arise from the fabric swatches.
